Aiming to deliver the best quality ophthalmic care
Dr. Sheeraz Janjua is the senior optometrist at John Flynn & O'Brien's Opticians; he has conducted extensive research into dry eye syndrome for his doctorate from Aston University. He is one of only 25 optometrists in the UK with the qualification.
Dr. Janjua has been at the helm in Beeston Nottingham & Brigg North Lincolnshire since 2003 and leads a small team of optometrists, dispensing opticians and optical assistants.
He has created his own study, researching the effect of diet in relation to dry eye syndrome on a group of people.
“Dry eye syndrome is something that many people suffer with but don’t act upon because they feel it is not serious enough to go to hospital or see an optician about. It is a big problem - people just try to live with it.”
This work has taken more than six years to complete and included practice-based research, repeatedly examining and monitoring some 200 patients.
Now, thanks to his qualification, customers at John Flynn & O'Brien's Opticians are being provided with specialist treatment plans.
